A very shallow magnitude 2.3 earthquake was reported in the early hours of the morning near Riverton, Salt Lake County, Utah, United States. According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake occurred on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 12:05 am local time, with a shallow depth of 5.5 miles. Shallow earthquakes are known to be felt more strongly compared to deeper ones, as they are closer to the surface.
