Brazen Daylight Robbery at Indian Jewellery Outlet in California

In a daring daylight heist, a group of 20 thieves targeted an outlet of Pune-based PNG Jewellers in California, looting a significant amount of jewellery. The shocking incident, captured on CCTV, shows a large group of masked individuals storming the store in the Sunnyvale area, wielding sledgehammers and shattering display cases before fleeing in multiple vehicles. The entire heist was executed within minutes, leaving the authorities and the local community in disbelief.

The robbery, which took place at approximately 1:27 pm on June 12 (local time), was swiftly addressed by the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety (DPS). Despite the swift police response, the suspects managed to escape in multiple vehicles, leading to intense pursuits and a dramatic pursuit on the highway. Five suspects were ultimately apprehended and charged with various offenses, including armed robbery, felony vehicle evasion, resisting arrest, burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, vandalism, possession of burglary tools, and outstanding warrants.

While some of the stolen jewellery has been recovered, the total value of the loot remains unknown at this time. The authorities are actively investigating the incident and determining if it is related to a previous robbery at a jewellery store in Sunnyvale that occurred in May involving multiple suspects.

In response to the alarming incident, the authorities in California convened a meeting with members of the Indian-American community, assuring stern action and heightened vigilance. The brazen nature of the robbery has raised concerns and prompted a strong community response.
